Choose your path: direct entry or performance-based admissions

Path one: direct entry

To enrol for the MSc you’ll need a UK second-class honours degree (or an acceptable equivalent non-UK qualification, if you’re an overseas student).

Path two: performance-based admissions

If you’ve already got relevant professional experience, you can apply for the MSc via the performance-based admissions (PBA) route.

To qualify for the PBA route, you’ll need a third-class bachelor’s degree or Aegrotat, as well as an appropriate professional experience qualification from a recognised professional body. You’ll also need to successfully complete two modules (30 credits), before transferring to the MSc. If you meet these requirements, we can consider your application on a case-by-case basis.

Frequently asked questions

Your certificate will show that you have successfully completed the MSc Cyber Security. It will also show that the awarding body is the University of London, with academic direction provided by Royal Holloway, University of London.

To help cover the associated administrative costs of processing the high volumes of applications this programme attracts, there is an application handling fee for the MSc Cyber Security programme of £65. It is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Job titles of graduates of the on-campus programme include Business Information Security Officer, Security Consultant, Security Specialist and Group Head of Technology, Cyber Security and Resilience. In this online programme, your focus will be on mastering practical applied skills that have immediate relevance to current and emerging demands in the cybersecurity field. You can be confident that the skills you’re learning align with the latest industry demands and expectations.
