This Specialization is intended for intermediate 3D artists seeking to develop cinematic lighting and rendering skills in Maya. Through three courses, you will cover scene setup, interior and character lighting, and advanced multi-scene projects, preparing you to create professional-quality renders for your portfolio. Guided by Abraham Leal from Nexttut, a 3D artist with over 11 years of industry experience, you’ll learn practical, production-focused workflows used in real studios.
Applied Learning Project
Learners will apply cinematic lighting techniques across three progressively challenging projects designed to simulate authentic production work. Starting with fundamental scene setup and Arnold lighting, you will create clean, polished renders ready for post-production. You will then move into character and interior lighting, where you’ll design atmospheric effects, practice time-of-day setups, and enhance storytelling impact. Finally, in the advanced course, you will tackle complex multi-scene projects including outdoor landscapes, oceans, and dramatic lighting compositions, applying both artistic and technical skills. By the end of the Specialization, learners will have a portfolio of cinematic renders demonstrating professional lighting workflows in Maya.
